Sarah has also accompanied numerous other musical groups and performances in mid-coast and southern Maine. Sarah works in the Office of Alumni Relations at Bowdoin College and resides in Gorham with her husband, Scot, and their daughter Izzy.

Let the Maine Gay Men’s Chorus Serenade You This Season

Join us in stepping into a more magical season this year with the Maine Gay Men’s Chorus by attending their epic holiday concert, “Songs We Call Home.”

The show is set against a glorious backdrop at the South Portland Auditorium and the men of the chorus will guide the audience through all of the best holiday carols, talented harmonies that celebrate the people, places, and memories that make the season unforgettable. 

The shows are set for Friday, December 12th at 7:30pm on Saturday, December 13th at 7:30pm, and Sunday, December 14th at 2:30pm. You can snag your tickets now online for $25 in advance or at the door $30.

Maine Photographer, Steven Bridges has been the official photographer for them for 20 years now and told us they've been performing for 30 years and are absolutely amazing.

The Maine Gay Men's Chorus is an organization of gay men and their allies, dedicated to excellence in the choral arts.

He attended Harvard College, where he studied French & Francophone Studies and sang with the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum and the Kuumba Singers. She went on to Bowdoin College and majored in mathematics and economics and earned a minor in music. They bring there powerful voices to audiences and create a deep sense4 of belonging and inclusivity.

This chorus is as good as it gets.

About the Artistic Director – Nate Menifield

An Aroostook County, Maine native, Nathaniel (Nate) Menifield is frequently in demand as a teacher, guest conductor, adjudicator, and performer throughout Maine and New Hampshire.

Various websites may be linked through the MaineArts.com website. Representing many walks of life, professions, and ages, MGMC is a diverse group of individuals whose performances move audiences to tears, laughter, and cheer.

Do you have questions about MGMC? She accompanied the MGMC to Minneapolis in July 2024 to perform in the GALA Choruses Festival.

MGMC also performs at special events and functions upon request.

MGMC features talent from all around the great state of Maine. Tommy brings compassionate leadership, with an emphasis on inclusion, safety and empowerment for all MGMC members and staff. She accompanied the Maine Gay Men’s Chorus from 2007-09 and has been back playing with them since 2015.

Tommy has performed on stages throughout New England, Greater Portland and mid-coast Maine. Tommy has served as the host/emcee for several non-profit galas/fundraisers in Greater Portland, and is a TEDxDirigo speaker.

Offstage Tommy is a licensed clinical social worker. Select Maine credits: Robert Kincaid (The Bridges of Madison County), Malcolm MacGregor (The Full Monty), Galileo Figaro (We Will Rock You), Leo Frank (Parade), Emcee (Cabaret) and Gary/Roger (Noises Off).

Tommy is the Clinical Administrative Director of Art of Awareness (South Portland) and runs a private psychotherapy practice in Portland (specializing in LGBTQIA2S+ topics/needs and complex trauma).
