Davenriche European Martial Artes School (DEMAS) proudly recognizes the diversity of its students, including those of the LGBTQ community.

The goal of our Big Gay Sword Day is to show support to the local LGBTQ community, and that all are welcome at the school.

Especially check in about safety expectations, injuries, and the intensity of drilling or bouting to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of your training partners.

Follow the safety rules – Make sure you follow the safety rules and safety directions from instructors and other participants.

We would like to acknowledge the Gadigal people as the custodians of the land in which our events take place and pay our respects to elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal Peoples.

Through this support, a strong
community within the school has developed, where people feel accepted and safe.
Local LGBTQ community support groups and services will be on-site with informational tables for the event.

In addition, there will be sword and weapons demonstrations, sparring between current students, and an opportunity to get a taste of the different classes offered at DEMAS.

The main focus will be sabre, rapier, and knife, but there will be plenty of space to practice other weapons. [Watch]
