ABOUT US

Lavender Zines is a digital and physical archive preserving queer magazines and ephemera from the 1960s.

I dedicate this weekly post, featuring vintage gay photographs, to the men and women who lived in a more critical time where being true to yourself and loving who you want wasn’t always an option and came at a great price. Queer joy is resistance.

Here’s how you can help...

PROTECT QUEER HISTORY

FUND THE FUTURE

Support this archive’s work to rescue, digitize, and defend queer print culture from disappearance and decay.

.

Just a heads up if you want to click on the link – this is a NSFW Twitter account so don’t say I didn’t warn you! Does anyone recognize where this may have been taken? From printed paper to matchbooks, each item is stored with attention to its condition and history. Don’t let them fade, send them our way so they can live on and be seen.

SPREAD THE JOY

Share the archive.
